Hana Bird (Hanan Alattar)

Houston-born Hanan Alattar completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Texas at Austin and received a Master’s degree from the Juilliard School, as well as an Artist’s Diploma. In 2011, Ms Alattar debuted with Seattle Opera in the role of Pamina. She returned to Austin Lyric Opera for another Magic Flute as well. She began the 2009-10 season with Rosina in Opera Theatre of Saint Louis’s new production of the Corigliano’s famous The Ghost of Versailles and her her debut with Boston Lyric Opera as Micaela in a new production of Bizet’s Carmen. Recently she has completed two brand new productions playing the role of Clarice in Il mondo della luna with Gotham Chamber Opera and Diane Paulus at the Hayden Planetarium and returning to ENO to sing the role of Leila in the Pearl Fishers. This was also a new production, directed by the film-maker and opera director Penny Woolcock. Upcoming performances include Mozart’s Requiem with the Seattle Symphony and Paminain Die Zauberflote with Seattle Opera.
